Dr. Payne graduated from the Michigan College of Optometry at Ferris State University with high distinction in 1987. From 1989 through 1997 he served as a clinical instructor at the Special Needs Vision Clinic in Saginaw Michigan. Dr. Payne opened Baldwin Eye Care on November of 2006. When he is not practicing optometry, he spends time with his wife Denise and their three cats.
